Northern Ireland 1986-87

Here is a colection of photographs I took whilst serving in Belfast, N.Ireland between 1986 and 87

A patrol group normally consisted of 3 sections (3 X 4 men) on foot to one mobile section, 2 X APV's (Armoured Patrol Vehicle). The foot patrol would slowly move into the area while the mobile sections secured a wider perimeter and were able to respond quickly should they be needed to. The mobiles always seemed to give a strange sense of security whenever they were there; as if you weren't alone anymore.
