Northern Ireland 1986-87

Here is a colection of photographs I took whilst serving in Belfast, N.Ireland between 1986 and 87

The mobile patrols ran 24/7 and were always carried out in pairs. Each section (8 men) would take it in turns to go on mobile, with 4 men (a Brick) to a vehicle. The bar at the front of the APV was to prevent the lookouts from being decapitated with piano wire that the terrorists would often erect across the road.
