Northern Ireland 1986-87

Here is a colection of photographs I took whilst serving in Belfast, N.Ireland between 1986 and 87

Here we see 2 mobile patrols and a foot patrol clearing a street. The average weight a soldier had to carry whilst on patrol was about 50 lbs (30kg). This extra weight had to be carried sometimes up to 5-8 hours at a time. It therefore, goes without question that the soldiers had to be super fit before going on tour.
